From the PUEBLO to the REZ
Native Americans in Higher Education and Mentorship - Nativos en la Educacion Superior y Mentoria (NAHEM)
NAHEM a 501(c) organization is a national, Native women-owned organization driving the cultural resilience and self-determination of Indigenous peoples globally. We achieve our mission through a proven, grassroots service model, delivered nationally and reinforced by vital localized programs in Northern California and Seattle, Washington, focusing on education, mentorship, and cultural sustainability for communities across North America, South America, and Oceania.
Our woman-led organization bridges Indigenous communities across continents, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and solidarity in the pursuit of academic and professional success. Our vision is to create a world where Indigenous students and leaders thrive in higher education and professional settings, preserve and revitalize their languages and traditions, and drive sustainable development within their communities.
Through intergenerational learning, cross-cultural exchanges, and collective advocacy, we uplift Indigenous voices, strengthen self-determination, and ensure that Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural legacies endure for generations to come. For upcoming events check out our resource center.
