MISSION STATEMENT
Native Americans in Higher Education and Mentorship (NAHEM) is a 501(c) organization proudly owned and operated by Native women, with employees comprised exclusively of Indigenous peoples. We envision a future where Indigenous and Indigenous LGBTQIA2SP+ peoples across North America, South America, and Oceania are empowered through education, mentorship, and cultural sustainability, with a primary focus on California and Washington.
Our woman-led organization bridges Indigenous communities across continents, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and solidarity in the pursuit of academic and professional success. Our vision is to create a world where Indigenous students and leaders thrive in higher education and professional settings, preserve and revitalize their languages and traditions, and drive sustainable development within their communities. Through intergenerational learning, cross-cultural exchanges, and collective advocacy, we uplift Indigenous voices, strengthen self-determination, and ensure that Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural legacies endure for generations to come.
